English
In His own time He has made His word evident in the proclamation entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior.

Notes

  • In His own time: The initiative is entirely with God, who fulfills his plan on his own schedule by his own will (see 3:5; 1 Timothy 2:6; 2 Timothy 1:10).

  • God our Savior: In Titus 1:4, Jesus is also called “our Savior,” identifying Jesus with God (see 2:10, 13; 3:4, 6).

The beginning of the book of Titus, like that of 1 Timothy (1:1–2), establishes Paul’s authority for his representative.
