Notes

the Lord turned and looked at Peter: At that time, Jesus was inside the house, where the leaders were questioning him. He may have looked through a window or an open entryway (a covered space at the entrance of a house).

When their eyes met, the rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said earlier, that Peter would deny him (22:34).
