English
When Naomi heard in Moab that the LORD had attended to His people by providing them with food, she and her daughters-in-law prepared to leave the land of Moab.
Notes
The Hebrew verb for "giving" is also used in Ruth 4:13 as “enabled.” These two mentions of God's actions frame the story with similar phrases, known as an inclusio or literary “bookends.” God provides good things, like food and children, and he works behind the scenes in everyday life.
