Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. The word that you hear is not My own, but it is from the Father who sent Me.

Notes

  • Jesus answered Judas's question. He said his coming would be a deep spiritual revelation that the world would not understand.

  • The coming of Jesus would happen in three events:

    • his resurrection,

    • the arrival of the Holy Spirit, and

    • his second coming.

When he comes through the Spirit, he and the Father will live within Christians, making a home with each of them (see study note on 14:2).

Jesus provided answers to his disciples’ many spoken and unspoken concerns.
