Translations
Modern
The rebels are deep in slaughter; but I will chastise them all.
Traditional
And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
Literal
And into slaughter the rebels are deep; and I will discipline all of them.
Latin
Et victimas declinastis in profundum; et ego eruditor omnium eorum.
Original
Hebrew
English
The rebels are deep in slaughter; but I will chastise them all.
Notes
I will chastise them all: This refers to God’s judgment. The Hebrew word musar means “discipline.” God’s judgment would certainly fall on Israel’s leaders. God did not judge Israel only to punish them, but to correct them so that his people would return to him.
