And he said to me, “This water flows out to the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah. When it empties into the Dead Sea, the water there becomes fresh.

Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.
Literal
And He said to me: “These waters are flowing toward the eastern border, and they go down upon the Arabah and enter the Sea; and having gone out into the sea, its waters are healed.

Notes

As the river flowed, it became deeper and wider. It brought life wherever it went. Even the salty waters of the Dead Sea became fresh and full of life.

Once the temple was restored to its central place among God’s people, its life-giving influence would flow outward.

Ezekiel pictures this influence as a river. As the river moves away from the temple, it brings change. It turns places of death into places of life.
