Then he cried out in a loud voice like the roar of a lion. And when he cried out, the seven thunders sounded their voices.

Notes

  • Although the scroll is small, it is still very important. It reveals a small but critical part of God’s purposes for events that will happen before eternity begins.

  • he cried out in a loud voice: Compare Job 37:2–5; Psalm 18:13; Psalm 29:3–4.

This interlude between the sixth and seventh trumpets has two parts:

  1. the seven thunders and the small scroll (Revelation 10:1–11), and

  2. the two witnesses (Revelation 11:1–13).

The interlude ends with the announcement that the second terror is over (Revelation 11:14).
