Notes

A song: The Greek version reads for the Assyrian.

God's victory over Zion's enemies hints at his future victory over all his enemies worldwide.

This psalm appears to celebrate a victory. The victory might have been recent, such as over the Assyrians (see note on 76:1; see also Isaiah 37). Or, it might be remembering God's great acts of rescue in the past.
