If anyone will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that place, as a testimony against them.”

Notes

shake the dust off your feet: This represents God's judgment on those who rejected the apostles' message (see Acts 18:6). To reject it was actually to reject Jesus and God, who sent him (9:37).

Jesus sent the disciples to preach and heal. During this mission, they memorized the teachings of Jesus by repeating them. This prepared them to later recall and share what Jesus did and taught (Luke 1:2).

The mission of Jesus and the misunderstanding of the disciples are prominent themes in this section.
