Notes
Jewish opposition once again forced Paul and Barnabas out of their district. They shook the dust off their feet as a sign of rejection, as Jesus had taught his disciples (see Matthew 10:14–15; Mark 6:11–12; Luke 9:5–6; 10:10–11). That place was then treated as pagan (not worshiping the true God). Paul and Barnabas left that place in order to reach other people who might be more open to the message of new life in Christ.
