Notes

The Passover meal was held on the 15th of Nisan (March~April) in the Jewish calendar and was immediately followed by the seven-day Feast of Unleavened Bread (Exodus 12:1–20; 23:15; 34:18; Deuteronomy 16:1–8). This feast is sometimes also called Passover.

The religious leaders who had been plotting against Jesus (see 19:47) found their opportunity when Judas Iscariot approached them with an offer to betray Jesus.
