Notes

Love the Lord your God: Jesus identified Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18 as the two most important commandments (Mark 12:28–34). Deuteronomy 6:5 is part of the prayer called the Shema, which every Jew was to repeat daily.
