For this is what the LORD says: “I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flowing stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm, and bounced upon her knees.

For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

For thus says YHWH: “Behold I am stretching out to her peace like a river, and flowing like a stream the glory of the nations; and you will nurse, at her side you will be carried, and on her knees you will be dandled.

a river: The people who lost peace and prosperity during the exile in Babylon will receive it back in abundance (see Isaiah 48:18).
