…because I, the LORD, will speak whatever word I speak, and it will be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak a message and bring it to pass, declares the Lord GOD.’”
Traditional
For I am the Lord: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord God.
Literal
For I am YHWH! I speak, and the word that I speak will come to pass; it will not drag out any longer, but in your days, O house of rebellion, I will speak the word and will do it! An utterance of the Lord YHWH.’”

Notes

The people did not believe the message from God (Ezekiel 12:22). So the Lord gave them a new proverb.

He used words that were similar to their saying. But he gave those words a different and opposite meaning.
