The LORD has done what He planned; He has accomplished His decree, which He ordained in days of old; He has overthrown you without pity. He has let the enemy gloat over you and exalted the horn of your foes.

The Lord hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.

YHWH has done what He planned, and has fulfilled His word, which He commanded from days before; He has overthrown, and He has not spared; the enemy He has made glad over you, and He has raised high the horn of your adversaries.

Notes

His decree, which He ordained in days of old: God's promises of blessings depended on Israel's obedience to the law (Deuteronomy 8). He had promised to destroy them if they disobeyed it (Leviticus 26).

This chapter vividly shows the Lord acting as the one who destroys Jerusalem.
