Jehu was the son of Hanani, the prophet who had criticized Asa for relying on the Arameans (2 Chronicles 16:7–9). Jehu now scolded Jehoshaphat for his alliance with Ahab.
The word love represents faithfulness to a covenant. Jehoshaphat’s covenant with the wicked Ahab conflicted with his covenant with the Lord.
