Notes

God invites everyone to a feast in his house (compare Proverbs 9:1–6).

All creatures live by God's grace (1 Timothy 4:10).

As the source of wisdom, the Lord is reliable and incomparable. His faithful care extends to all parts of the created order.

This lament contrasts the foolish world made by the wicked with the wise world created and maintained by the Lord. The wicked care only about themselves, while the Lord cares for all creation. He will step in to bring justice to his world. The righteous will enjoy his protection, but the wicked will die.
