Notes

blessed: Everyone will recognize the children of godly people (see Psalm 127:4) because the godly leave a legacy for their children (see 1:3; compare Matthew 6:20).

The fear of the Lord leads to a wise life that honors God and brings blessing to the family and the community. The godly follow God with joy. Their obedience does not come from fear like a slave obeying a master.

This psalm repeats the themes of wisdom and the fear of the Lord (Psalm 111). Wise people have reasons to be happy (Psalm 112:1–5) and strong (112:6–10).

The word Hallelujah! is repeated throughout this group of psalms.
