Notes

Jesus emphasized the great importance of being merciful. This means to show kindness to those in need (see Matthew 6:12, 14–15; 9:13; 12:7; 18:23–35; 23:23; 25:31–46). Those who are merciful now will receive God's mercy at the final judgment.
