Notes

Satan entered Judas Iscariot: See John 13:2; Acts 5:3. Earlier, Satan had tempted Jesus and had been waiting for this opportunity (Luke 4:2, 13).

The religious leaders who had been plotting against Jesus (see 19:47) found their opportunity when Judas Iscariot approached them with an offer to betray Jesus.
