he struck the socket of Jacob’s hip and dislocated it: Jacob, who had struggled and deceived others, could no longer fight. When the man wrestled with him as an equal, Jacob could hold his ground. But now he met someone far stronger than himself.
Jacob went back to the land God promised him. Before this, God met, injured, and blessed him. God also changed his name to Israel. This event was a significant turning point for Jacob.
