Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.

And you shall keep His statutes and His commandments that I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, that you may prolong your days in the land that YHWH your God is giving to you—all the days.

Notes

live long: The promise of long life meant more than a long life for one individual. It described Israel’s continued stay in the promised land.

Moses gave a long speech to the Israelites because of their recent failures and what he thought would happen in Canaan.
