in later days: Israel would one day return from exile and from being scattered among the nations (see 30:1–10; Leviticus 26:40–45; Jeremiah 31:27–34; Ezekiel 36:22–31).

Moses gave a long speech to the Israelites because of their recent failures and what he thought would happen in Canaan.
