Mount Nebo is a high point in the Abarim hills east of the Jordan River. From here, you can see almost all the land west of the Jordan River (32:49).
Nebo was part of Pisgah peak (see study note on 3:17).
Gilead as far as Dan: This was the northernmost part of the land. The Sea of Galilee and Mount Hermon are directly north of Nebo. Gilead is east of the sea, and Dan (also called Laish; Judges 18:29) was south and west of Hermon.
Moses did not enter the promised land (see study note on 32:51). However, God allowed him to share a moment of glory in the land when the divine glory of Jesus was revealed to others (Luke 9:28–36).
