Notes

All eleven of the remaining apostles were present (compare Matthew 10:2–4; Mark 3:16–19; Luke 6:13–16). Judas Iscariot is not on this list because he had already betrayed Jesus and killed himself (Acts 1:18–19).

The apostles waited for the promised gift of the Holy Spirit (1:4–5). All 120 disciples in Jerusalem were persisting in prayer (1:13–14). Then they chose a new apostle to replace Judas Iscariot (1:15–26).
