Notes

the rest of the acts of Ahaz: Ahaz rejected the Lord by removing and destroying the temple's utensils (2 Chronicles 28:24). He closed the temple and stopped its services, promoting pagan practices instead (2 Chronicles 28:25; 29:7). Ahaz's complete change in Judah's worship was similar to Jeroboam I's actions (see 2 Kings 3:3; 13:2; 16:2–4; 17:21; 1 Kings 12:25–33; 16:26; 22:52).
