Notes
Christians belong to heaven. Because of this, they live in this world as foreigners with different values and with a clear purpose from God. Their heavenly identity calls them to live faithfully and responsibly in the places where God has put them, while looking forward to the fullness of life with God (1:1; see Philippians 3:20).
New birth and the hope of salvation call Christians to live as God’s people. They must turn away from the values of the world and follow the holiness of God, who redeemed them.
