This prayer is inspired by the priestly blessing in Numbers 6:24–26. God's kindness to Israel influences his reputation among other nations (see Psalm 96:1–3).
This anonymous prayer asks for God's blessing. The psalmist speaks about knowing and worshiping God among all nations (compare Psalms 64:9; 65:8). The prayer asks for God's name to remain holy and that his kingdom come (compare Matthew 6:9–13).
