Notes

Unlike pagan gods, God does not need food. Instead, he wants his people to serve him with sincere hearts (Psalm 50:14–15).

The psalmist warns against valuing sacrificial rituals more than having the right attitude in your heart.

God appears as judge. He reminds both the godly and the ungodly that sacrifices and reciting the law are worthless without thankfulness, repentance, and justice.
