May those who gloat in my distress be ashamed and confounded; may those who exalt themselves over me be clothed in shame and reproach.

Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.

Let them be put to shame and brought to confusion together, those being glad at my distress; may they be clothed with shame and dishonor, those magnifying themselves over me!

Notes

The psalmist calls on the Lord to judge the wicked and to rescue the godly and bring them joy.
