Notes

Too much alcohol affects a person's judgment. The Old Testament does not oppose drinking wine in moderation (Proverbs 3:10; 9:5; Psalm 104:14–15), but it strongly opposes excessive drinking (Proverbs 21:17; 23:29–35; 31:4–5).
