Notes
Ezra read from the Book of the Law of God: The law was read every seven years at the Feast of Booths (Deuteronomy 31:10–12). This reminded the people of the covenant rules and God's past acts of kindness.
This section, possibly from Ezra’s personal memoirs, explains how Ezra’s teaching of God’s law renewed the people's commitment to serve God and follow his instructions. Spiritual revival occurred alongside the civic work of Ezra and Nehemiah.
