Notes

My heavenly Father has not planted: These Pharisees did not belong to the true people of God (see 3:9–12; Isaiah 5:1–7; Jeremiah 45:4). God will remove them at the final judgment (see Matthew 3:10; 8:12).

Jesus accused the Pharisees of disobeying God's law because of their focus on preserving traditions.
