Notes

The location of the village of Nain is uncertain. It might be the modern town of Nein, 9.6 kilometers (6 miles) southeast of Nazareth.

Jesus raised three people from the dead:

  • the dead man in this passage,

Jesus has power over life and death (compare 1 Kings 17:17–24; 2 Kings 4:18–37).
