The people stood watching, and the rulers sneered at Him (see Psalm 22:7–8): Psalm 22 describes David, a righteous sufferer, crying out to God for help. Jesus, a descendant of David, was the ultimate righteous sufferer and fulfilled the words of Psalm 22.
