And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the Lord hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

He has treated violently His booth as a garden; He has destroyed His appointed place; YHWH has caused to be forgotten in Zion the appointed feast and Sabbath, and He has spurned in the rage of His anger king and priest!

Notes

A garden shelter was a temporary structure that harvesters set up to provide shade. God had promised to care for his temple forever (1 Kings 9:3), but now it seemed he had abandoned it.

This chapter vividly shows the Lord acting as the one who destroys Jerusalem.
