Notes
Be patient: This is the ultimate solution for the poor enduring economic struggles and unfair treatment by the wicked people who are rich (5:1–6; see 2:6–7). People may treat the poor as insignificant and oppress them. Yet, they should not give up or retaliate against their oppressors. When the Lord returns, the faithful will receive their final reward (Isaiah 40:10; Luke 6:20–35; 1 Corinthians 15:23; 1 Peter 1:17; 5:4; Revelation 22:12).
