But you have forgotten the LORD, your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. You live in terror all day long because of the fury of the oppressor who is bent on destruction. But where is the fury of the oppressor?

And forgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

And you forget YHWH your Maker, the One stretching out the heavens, and laying the foundations of the earth; and you are in dread continually, all the day, from the face of the rage of the one oppressing, who is prepared to destroy. And where is the rage of the oppressor?

  • you have forgotten the LORD: The Lord will never forget Israel (see Isaiah 44:21; 49:15), so they should remember him.
