Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
Literal
Therefore behold, I am adding to do a marvellous work with this people, and by a wonder making wonders, so will perish, the wisdom of its wise, and the understanding of its discerning will be hidden.

Notes

Human wisdom and intelligence will disappear (see 1 Corinthians 1:19). The prophet had already spoken about the failure of Egypt’s wise men (Isaiah 19:11–12). Even Judah’s wise men would make mistakes.

This is the second of the six woes (Woe …).
