Notes

People who try to be righteous by obeying the law must obey every one of its rules without exception (see 2:15–16; compare James 2:10).

The Judaizers were a group who believed in following the law of Moses. They taught that following the law would earn God's favor (compare Acts 15:1). However, this approach actually leads to separation from God. True righteousness comes to those who live in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
