And Moses added, “The LORD will give you meat to eat this evening and bread to fill you in the morning, for He has heard your grumbling against Him. Who are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against the LORD.”

And Moses said, This shall be, when the Lord shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord.

And Moses said, “In YHWH giving to you flesh in the evening to eat, and bread in the morning to the full, in YHWH hearing your complaints that you complain against Him. And what are we? Your complaints are not against us, but against YHWH.”

Notes

God demonstrated care for his people by providing manna and quail as food for them.

On the journey from the sea to Mount Sinai, God continued to care for the people's needs. During the events where he rescued them, he showed his power. Here, he showed that he cares about their basic needs.
