English
When Israel saw the great power that the LORD had exercised over the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and believed in Him and in His servant Moses.

Notes

  • the people feared the LORD and believed in Him: Sadly, their faith did not last long (see 15:24; 16:3).

  • To be the Lord’s servant is a position of high honor (see Isaiah 42:1–4; Matthew 12:18).

The escape through the Red Sea was the climactic moment of rescue. It was the highest point of God’s saving work in the exodus from Egypt.
