And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

And you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and you shall touch it to the lintel and to the two doorposts from the blood that is in the basin. and you—each man—shall not go out from the door of his house until morning.

Notes

Hyssop is a small bush with firm, compact branches that a person can use as a brush (see also Psalm 51:7 and study note).

The Lord gave Moses instructions for the Passover meal and the Feast of Unleavened Bread (12:14–20). Moses and the people then celebrated the first Passover (12:21–30).
