Therefore the LORD has kept the calamity in store and brought it upon us. For the LORD our God is righteous in all He does; yet we have not obeyed His voice.

Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
Literal
And YHWH has kept watch over the calamity, and has brought it upon us, for righteous is YHWH our God in all His deeds that He does, and we have not listened to His voice.

Notes

To You, O Lord, belongs righteousness: God planned the exile to judge unfaithful Israel (Daniel 9:11–14). God had warned them many times that it would occur (see Deuteronomy 28:36–37, 49–68).

Daniel prayed for his people, knowing that Jerusalem's seventy years of desolation were about to end. His prayer is similar to those of:

God answered Daniel's prayer quickly (see study note on Daniel 9:19; see also Daniel 9:20–27).
