Ahithophel was Bathsheba’s grandfather (see 2 Samuel 11:3; 23:34). Years later, he might have still been upset about David's actions toward his granddaughter.
Giloh was located in the region of Hebron (Joshua 15:51, 54).
Absalom revolted against David eleven years after Amnon violated Tamar (compare 2 Samuel 13:23, 38; 14:28; 15:7). This was around the twenty-fifth year of David's thirty-three-year rule in Jerusalem.
