Notes

The Bread of the Presence represented God's provision for his people. It was placed before God on the tables (2 Chronicles 4:8) as an offering, showing it belonged to God and that Israel's provision came from God's "table." The priests ate some of the bread (Leviticus 24:5–9), and the rest was burned. This meal symbolized the covenant meal of fellowship between God and his people (see Exodus 24:9–11).
