1. hearing, the sense of hearing: 1 Corinthians 12:17, 2 Peter 2:8; "Hebraic dative," ἀκοῇ ακούειν (frequently in LXX; V. M, Pr., 14, 75), Matthew 13:14, Acts 28:26.
2. organ of hearing, the ear (Arist., al.; MM, VGT, see word): 2 Timothy 4:3-4; pl., Mark 7:35, Luke 7:1, Acts 17:20, Hebrews 5:11.
