  1. I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom:
  2. Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction.
  3. If anyone comes to you but does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home or even greet him.
  4. Whoever greets such a person shares in his evil deeds.
  5. When they continued to question Him, He straightened up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone at her.”
  6. But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a verbal abuser, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
  7. He said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with a foreigner or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.
  8. “Do not judge, or you will be judged.
  9. Acquitting the guilty and condemning the righteous—both are detestable to the LORD.
  10. But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect,
  11. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
