Overcoming Gluttony

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame. Their minds are set on earthly things.

For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and drowsiness will clothe them in rags.

Yet He knows the way I have taken; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold. …

…and put a knife to your throat if you possess a great appetite.
