Notes
The psalmist praises God, the Great King who reigns over all other rulers (see Psalm 47:2).
This psalm of praise is the last in this collection of the psalms of David (Psalms 138–145). Praise continues in the last five psalms (Psalms 146–150).
This psalm celebrates the Lord as the King of all (Psalm 145:1–3, 10–13). God's actions show his royal qualities (Psalm 145:4–7). He cares for all creatures (Psalm 145:14–17) and for those who fear him (145:18–20).
In this final group of psalms of David, psalms of praise and wisdom (Psalms 138–139, 145) form a frame around five psalms of lament (Psalms 140–144).
